Commander Scott Justice began his career with the City of Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue in June 1999.

He has completed an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection Technology through Coastal Carolina Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration through Mount Olive College, and a Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management through Eastern Kentucky University.

He has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy and the Eastern North Carolina Senior Fire Leadership Institute through Wilson Community College. Commander Justice holds numerous certifications through the NC Fire Commission including certification as a Fire Officer III. Additionally he has completed numerous specialty programs including the NC High Angle Rescue School, NC Rescue College, NC Breathing Equipment School, and NC Thermal Imaging School.
