Field Trip Planning for Teachers

Situated on 55 acres of land along the Neuse River in Kinston, our park is ideal for field trips. We have a Nature Center, Planetarium, Health and Science Museum, fishing ponds, picnic tables, and plenty of room to run around and explore. From our underground cave to our giant replica of a mouth and digestive system, we offer an experience that students will be talking about for years to come.

What Can We Do There?

We offer field trip opportunities at our facility that include a Nature Center tour and a Planetarium show with time to explore our Health & Science Museum. Our tours generally start at 9:30 a.m. and are over by noon. Starting and ending times may be adjusted based on the needs of your group and staff availability. Group size will be limited according to activities selected.

Please limit groups to 80 students per day. Groups may use our covered picnic shelter or picnic tables at the playground for lunches if available. Students may enjoy the playground and outdoor spaces.

Gift Shop

Local handmade crafts, souvenirs, & gifts are available for purchase in our Health & Science Museum. We only accept cash or check, but there is an ATM located in the shop for customer convenience. The ATM only requires a small fee of $3.

Donations and purchases help our park maintain and grow to further help our community.
